CBS Pittsburgh: Prediction Machine Makes Week 9 NFL, College Picks Nov 1st 2012, 13:17 CBS Pittsburgh | News, Sports, Weather, Traffic and the Best of Pittsburgh | | Prediction Machine Makes Week 9 NFL, College Picks Nov 1st 2012, 13:17 PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) — Paul Bessire, known better by the the nickname of his program, “The Prediction Machine,” checked in with The Fan Morning Show today to share his NFL picks, as he does every Thursday at 8:40 a.m. Bessire’s machine, which simulates each game 50,000 times, favors the Giants over the Steelers by a score of 24-23, but expects Ben Roethlisberger to outplay Eli Manning in the contest. As for the college side of things, he said the machine expects Notre Dame to beat Pitt Saturday by 19, which also happens to be the spread for the game. As usual, Bessire also had a plethora of analysis on upcoming NFL games and he gave the machine’s recommendations for which games should be the best plays and which might be better to stay away from.
