Larry Richert's Hometown Heroes is a way to recognize those in the Greater Pittsburgh Area who have done something exemplary in or for our community.
We’re asking YOU to nominate someone you feel stands out as a hero. Someone that’s made the community a better place. It’s a simple process. Click here to view the nomination form. You can also request a nomination form from amauk@kdka.com. Click here to view the criteria for nominations.
We’re taking applications in November and December and a panel of judges including Larry Richert will determine five of the individuals to honor in a ceremony and dinner held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Lexus Club at PNC Park. The event will be hosted by Larry Richert.
Each of the finalists will be featured in a short video presentation and honored during the event. In addition, each of the five finalists honored will receive $1000 to donate to a charity of their choice and the event's ticket sales will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
Hometown Heroes highlights the efforts of individuals within the community who deserve to be recognized, but may typically go unnoticed.
Ticket sales which will begin in 2013 for the event in March will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Details forthcoming.
