Use Instagram much? If you do, you’ll know that the best part about it is the community of users that’s over there. It’s as vibrant and rocking a community as Twitter or Facebook, all wrapped around photos you take, filter, and share. It’s what Flickr wishes it had become. Poor Flickr.
Anyway, you can have followers on Instagram, just like Twitter. And, also just like Twitter, people can unfollow you when you post something obnoxious, post too much, or just post something they don’t agree with. It’s all very democratic.
If you’ve ever wondered who was following you or who was un-following you, Followers+ might be the app for you.
Download the app and load it onto your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch (it’s a Universal app), then login with your Instagram credentials. You’ll need to Authorize the Followers+ app to use your Instagram account, which is typical for these sorts of apps.
Once logged in and authorized, you’ll see a nice screen full of info, with data on how many followers you have, how many folks you follow, how many photos you’ve posted, how many per week, etc. At the bottom, you can also tap through to different insights about your Instagram account, like how many followers you have that you’re not following back, and the number of users you follow who are not following you back.
There are in-app purchases available, called Extras, which will give you even more insights, like who your best followers are, or your worst, who posts the closest to you, or the farthest away, and the like.
For the Instagram super fans out there, this seems like an indispensable app. Even for a casual Instagram user like myself, Followers+ is a fun way to re-visualize the service in terms of followers and the like.
Followers+ is free on the App Store, and it has a “Pro” version available for $0.99, which includes the insights pack. Check it out and let us know what you think.
