LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) – A 500-pound wheelchair lift was stolen from a family's home in New Castle.
The backup wheelchair lift was purchased for their 15-year-old daughter who has cerebral palsy.
Family members believe the ramp was taken to be sold for scrap money.
The metal lift sat in the family's backyard for more than a year, the New Castle News reports.
It also reported that the mother of the teenager was told a new lift could cost $5,000.
