EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (93-7 THE FAN) — Steelers safety Ryan Clark may not get a phone call from New York after leaving there with a 24-20 win over the Giants Sunday, he didn’t hold back when reacting to a callous personal foul call for an alleged helmet-to-helmet hit on receiver Victor Cruz.
“They knew they were wrong. The guy had a rib injury. Period,” Clark said of the botched second-quarter call, which led to perhaps an equally questionable game-tying touchdown run by Andre Brown.
“They had meetings about me before the game,” he added. “So anytime they see number 25 flash, and a hit be made, it’s going to be an opportunity for me to get a flag.”
The Steelers overcame that call and overcame the champs with a stifling defense that held Eli Manning to just ten completions and 125 net yards, his worst single-game output in four years.
“I felt like we played well all day,” Clark told 93.7 The Fan’s Jeff Hathhorn. “You look at the touchdowns in the first half: they get a touchdown on the fumble, and they get the touchdown on the questionable helmet-to-helmet hit. I’ll go further than saying it was questionable, and say it was wrong.
“You have confidence in knowing that this team hasn’t put the ball in the end zone on us all day. We continued to hustle, we continued to hit, and in the end, we were victorious.”

The Steelers (5-3) will try for their fourth consecutive victory next Monday night against the Kansas City Chiefs (1-7) at Heinz Field.
