PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Steelers' third round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft will miss the entire season after suffering a knee injury in the team's final preseason game on Thursday.
According to a report on the Steelers' website, linebacker Sean Spence was placed on the reserve/injured list on Friday.
Spence suffered the injury during the third quarter of Thursday's 17-16 win over the Carolina Panthers at Heinz Field.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Spence tore multiple ligaments in his left knee.
The team also made their final cuts on Friday to finalize the 53-man roster that will open the season on the road in Denver next week.
According to the Steelers website, the following cutes were made: Tyler Beiler, Corbin Bryant , Toney Clemons, Damon Cromartie-Smith, Trai Essex, Terrence Frederick, David Gilreath, DuJuan Harris, Brandon Hicks, Igbinosun Ikponmwosa, Jerrod Johnson, Jeremy Kapinos, Ryan Lee, John Malecki, Marquis Maze, Marshall McFadden, Chris Scott, Jake Stoller, Josh Victorian and Derrick Williams.
