Today Facebook launched its new Photo Sync feature for all users of its mobile applications. So if you have the official Facebook app on your iPhone, you now have Photo Sync. It’s been added to the app without an accompanying update in the App Store.
Photo Sync automatically uploads the pictures you take on your device and stores them in a private Facebook photo album. You can then choose to share, file away, or delete the photos within the Facebook app.
To turn on Photo Sync, tap the “Synced” button that has been added to the bottom of the Photos section in your profile. A new message from Facebook will pop up the first time you go there, and you can choose to not sync.
Facebook promises that all uploaded photos will stay private until you do something with them. Photo Sync is supposed to help streamline the process of uploading pics to Facebook, assuming that’s your thing. You can choose to have them only upload over WiFi or a cellular connection. There’s only 2GB of storage, so you’ll have to stay on top of what you’ve uploaded.
