Apple will have 7 retail stores in China come Saturday.
If you own a Mac or an iOS device, there’s a good chance it was assembled by the fine folks at the Foxconn factory in Shenzhen, China. Despite being born there, however, Apple’s latest gadgets aren’t exactly easy to get hold of in the city. But that’s set to change on Saturday, November 3, when the Cupertino company opens the doors to its first Shenzhen retail store.
Back in September, Apple’s senior vice president of retail, John Browett, confirmed that a new store was coming to the Holiday Plaza in Shenzhen. And the company has now put up signs to announce its grand opening on Saturday at 9 a.m. local time.
This will be the seventh Apple store in mainland China, following the opening of the Wangfujing store — Apple’s largest store in Asia — in Beijing earlier this month. And that number will continue to rise as Apple focuses on expansion in China, which accounted for 15% ($23.8 billion) of the company’s revenue for the last fiscal year.
