Crash Kills One, Two Injured Oct 18th 2012, 11:00 PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – State police are responding to a fatal crash in Armstrong County this morning. Officials say the crash took place on route 422 where it meets Mushroom Farm Road in West Franklin Township. Around 5:45 a.m. one car swerved, causing a three-vehicle crash that killed one person and injured two others. One person was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital; another was taken to a hospital in Kittaning. Police say the crash happened after one driver tried to avoid hitting a deer. The traffic happened in the Westbound lanes, but all of route 422 is closed for now. Traffic is being directed onto old Route 422. Stay with KDKA for more on this breaking story.
