PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – State police are responding to a fatal crash in Armstrong County this morning.
Officials say the crash took place on route 422 where it meets Mushroom Farm Road in West Franklin Township.
Around 5:45 a.m. one car swerved, causing a three-vehicle crash that killed one person and injured two others.
One person was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital; another was taken to a hospital in Kittaning.
Police say the crash happened after one driver tried to avoid hitting a deer.
The traffic happened in the Westbound lanes, but all of route 422 is closed for now.
Traffic is being directed onto old Route 422.
