PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have released a statement following the arrest of their 2012 fourth-round draft pick overnight on Pittsburgh's South Side.
According to the criminal complaint, Alameda Ta'amu of Washington State is facing a long list of charges including fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and escape.
Pittsburgh Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert released a statement this morning following the incident.
It reads in full: “We are disappointed to hear about the situation regarding Alameda Ta'amu. We will gather more facts before providing any further comment.”
The incident reportedly happened around 2:30 a.m. The criminal complaint reports several vehicles were damaged in the incident and one woman had to be taken to the hospital.
