The Florida Highway Patrol has identified one of two men killed in a traffic accident on State Road 415 near Osteen.
Mark Leyde of Mount Pleasant, S.C., 59, was killed in the crash that happened about 3 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 415 and Ellis Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
A 53-year-old man from Sanford has not yet been identified by FHP pending notification of his family.
Leyde was traveling north in a Kia Spectra on 415 just south of Lemon Bluff Road when "for an unknown reason" he crossed the center line into the southbound lane of traffic and hit the Sanford man's car head-on, the report states. A third car, driven by 52-year-old Marie Moore, of Deltona, also traveling south, hit the debris and went off the road onto the grass shoulder.
Moore was not injured. Leyde was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sanford man was taken to a local hospital, according to the report.
The crash remains under investigation.
