AMBRIDGE (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a pregnant woman was shot and killed in Beaver County overnight.
According to police, the shooting happened in the 200-block of Merchant Street around 8:30 p.m.
Conekeia "Coco" Finney, 19, was shot once in the chest while exiting her apartment and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Finney was leaving the apartment to meet her mother, who was parked outside, to get something to eat.
Finney was seven months pregnant at the time of the shooting.
Paramedics checked for a pulse on the child, but none could be found. As a result, police are investigating the shooting as a double homicide.
"As far as I knew, she was a sweet person, kind, friendly, always had a smile on her face. I couldn't believe it at all," David Berry said.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Finney lives in the apartment with her boyfriend and leaves behind a son as well.
