WAYNESBURG (KDKA) — Nearly 400 people packed a parking lot in Waynesburg to remember three teenagers killed in a crash on Interstate 79 in Greene County.

Cullin Frazer, Byron Kerr and Ben Hardy were among six teenagers riding in an SUV that hit a camper and a motorcycle.

A motorcyclist from Canada was killed. No one in the camper was hurt. The three other teens in the SUV survived.

Two of the survivors were at the vigil. Heidi Christopher organized the event.

"All of us are trying to hold it together because these guys were just always happy," she said. "Every time you seen one of them, you seen the other and you seen a big old smile on their face."

Maranda Roach was dating Ben Hardy. She said he was her best friend.

"I spent all the time with him that I could," she said. "I loved him so much. We had plans for the future, but now we don't get to have a future. I just reminisce on the past and all the good times we had together because there's nothing else I can do."

Jack Cooper is the grandfather of 18-year-old Byron Kerr. He brought a picture of his grandson on his motorcycle to the vigil.

"This was a crotch rocket, a fast one and he wanted it fast," he said. "And I kept telling him, I said, 'Byron, you're going to get killed on that bike.'

"He said, 'Pap, I won't get killed on a bike. I'll get killed in an automobile.' And he did."

State police say they are continuing their investigation into what caused the crash.
