PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police are investigating after three people were wounded when gunfire rang out at a football field in East Liberty this morning.
The shooting started around 10 a.m. at the field near the Pittsburgh Obama 6-12 school.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a peewee football game was just about to begin when the shots were fired.
KDKA's Bob Allen reports from the scene at least 100 people were in the stands for the game between the peewee teams from Wilkinsburg and Pittsburgh’s East End.
The Post-Gazette reports two of the victims, a man and a woman, were taken to a local hospital and required surgery. The third victim, a woman, was being treated for a gunshot wound to the hand.
Investigators were looking at surveillance video and believe an argument may have led to the shooting, according to the Post-Gazette.
