CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (KDKA) – The Washington & Jefferson College football team played its first game today, since a player was murdered in an on-campus street robbery.

The Presidents played at Thomas More College, located near the Kentucky-Ohio border near Cincinnati Sunday afternoon.

The hosts honored the memory of Tim McNerney, with an insert in today’s game program.

Thomas More won the game 54-18.

On Friday, police said they had no new leads in the investigation into McNerney’s death.

McNerney and one of his teammates, Zach DeCicco, were allegedly beaten by six men while walking back to the campus. DeCicco was able to get away with just a broken nose, but it was him and Larry Cekella, a student, who eventually found McNerney's body.

In the meantime, the team's head coach handed out T-shirts with McNerney’s picture and number as the players boarded the bus for today’s game.

A memorial has also been set up on campus.
