PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Some people in our area are reporting an invasion of stink bugs.
Bill Todaro, an entomologist from the Allegheny County Health Department, says less daylight make the bugs bug you.
“Something goes off in their head,” Todaro said. “‘I’ve got to seek shelter.’”
He says their ticket to longevity is surviving the winter, “so they fly to these protective places.”
He says the stink bug invasion is not nearly as bad as it was a few years ago.
Todaro also says the first good frost will make things better.
Linda Krien says she was at a parking lot in Delmont when it seemed like an invasion of stink bugs.
“They were very aggressive!” said Krien. “It looked like they all dive-bombed on my car!”
