PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police have arrested one man, but are still looking for another one involved in the robbery and dragging of a 26-year-old Oakland man Tuesday night.
Donald Boyd, a 56-year-old man from Centre Avenue, was arrested after he and another man allegedly tried to steal a laptop from a man in the Sunoco parking lot at North Craig and Bayard streets.
The two men were driving through the parking lot around 8:30 p.m. in a Pontiac Grand Prix when they took the victim’s laptop and said they would give it back in exchange for $300, according to police.
The victim then reached into the passenger window for his laptop when the two men drove forward and dragged him about 100 feet until he was ejected onto Bayard Street.
Boyd and his passenger then allegedly drove away onto Dithridge Street. Boyd told police he drove into the Hill District and dropped off the passenger.
Boyd faces four charges of robbery, criminal conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person and accident involving death or injury while not licensed. There is no word on the victim's condition.
The suspect at large is described as a black male, large in build with scruffy facial hair.
