PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – October is Fire Safety Month, which is a time to remind people to be cautious when turning their furnace on for the first time or lighting a fireplace.
It’s also a time to watch for carbon monoxide poisoning and to check the batteries on your fire alarms.

KDKA-AM’s Larry Richert talks to Deputy Chief Colleen Walz of the Pittsburgh Fire Bureau to find out what we can do to prevent fires, as well as what to do if a fire emergency happens.
